 Blurry blackboard...
I first experienced vision problems in high school. I couldn’t see the blackboard.
I knew Dr. Kelly was the doctor for me…
I heard about laser surgery about eight years ago and it kind of scared me. Then I heard more about it and went in to get more information. As soon as I went in to Dr. Kelly’s office I knew I was going to do it. Dr. Kelly was such a nice person. He was specific and comforting. He explains all his equipment, and he has all the up-to-date technologies. He told me how many surgeries he’s done, which is like 9,000 already. He tested me to see if I was a good candidate for the procedure and I was. He was there every time I went in and he kept explaining to me everything that was happening. And I decided to do it. It’s incredible. It really is. You think it’s going to be great and it’s 100 times better. I had the surgery on a Saturday and the hardest thing was that I had to wear my glasses to work the week before.
It’s really wild…
I was amazed. It was really wild. I have perfect vision. It’s really a miracle. I wake up and I can look at the alarm clock without my glasses and read the time.
I do a lot of things like camping and skiing, so it’s a pain in the neck to try to take contacts in and out in a tent. Now it’s so much easier. I don’t have to think about bringing all the solutions and my extra glasses.
No Fear...
I had no fears because Dr. Kelly explains everything to you. He tells you everything you could possibly want to know. Everyone there is so nice and they make you feel so calm and comfortable. Everything is so modern it's great. It’s only about 2 minutes on each eye. It’s so fast! My sister got to watch, and then she got her eyes done about a year later.
The day after the surgery, your eye feels a little itchy. Then I just slept that day and the next day I was fine.
It was like a dream come true. You never think that you’ll be able to see after wearing glasses for so long.
