Crystalens IOL

Kelly Laser Center offers Crystalens intraocular lenses (IOL) as a treatment for patients suffering from cataracts. Crystalens represents the latest in IOL technology and provides an effective method to correct vision problems caused by cataracts.

While most IOLs only correct vision at one particular distance, Crystalens IOLs are able to correct for both near and far vision so that you will not need corrective lenses after your surgery.

Crystalens is an accommodating IOL. Therefore, it flexes and adjusts to handle different visual conditions. Your Crystalens IOL will utilize your eye muscles to alter its focus based on the various visual stimuli surrounding you. This results in only one image reaching the back of your eye, preventing your brain from having to continually adjust to the change in images.

Your Crystalens procedure can be performed quickly with minimal discomfort. New York ophthalmologist Dr. James Kelly will numb your eyes and create a micro-seal on the edge of your cornea. He will then wash away your eye’s cloudy lens and replace it with a Crystalens IOL.

Many of our cataracts patients who also suffer from presbyopia find that the Crystalens IOL is the ideal option to correct their cataracts, and they are able to enjoy clear vision without corrective lenses following the procedure.

Please contact our New York ophthalmologists today to schedule your initial consultation. Kelly Laser Center serves patients in New York City, Long Island, and Manhattan, New York.
